Melanie Ruefli received her M.A. in Applied Linguistics in 2001 at Georgia State University. She taught ESL at Georgia Perimeter College for 10 years before joining the Georgia Tech Language Institute in 2010, where she has taught courses across all levels and and in various programs. In addition, she has worked on curriculum development and course design and participated in Academic Coaching for GT athletes and Communication Coaching for Atlanta professionals.
Her international experience includes teaching EFL and teacher training courses at Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand, and conducting ESL teacher workshops at universities in Japan, South Korea, Turkey, and Bulgaria. Her professional presentation topics include Latin American studies, media literacy, service learning, and, most recently, project based learning and AI.
